Edward Alvarado

My name is Edward Alvarado, born in NY and raised in Tampa, Florida. Growing up I found there were few things in life that brought me true joy. Playing video games with my family, reading, running, Halloween and learning. Learning about the world around me is a life long passion of mine. Technology, science, engineering and innovation are my life blood. That passion is what drives me forward to learn new concepts and apply those concepts to real-world problems, whether that be a solving to a client's software needs or learning the best ways to level up a character in Runescape.  Passion is what separates those who simply work a job and those who craft a life-long career.

A few of the skills I'm passionate about

Software Development
My software development background started with learning Python in a couple entry level courses. From there I learned C, C++, Java, and JavaScript. As my coursework progressed and I worked with new integrated development environments I became faster and more accustomed to new systems and languages.

Project Management
Nearly a decade of project management experience got started within USAA. Starting small with organizing compliance risk scores and mitigating error for our team. I quickly grew to larger projects where I was handling process improvements and innovation screening for an entire department. Project management is crucial to a smooth business operation and is a vital component to innovating for the future.

Mobile Development
My primary exposure to mobile development is through Android development studio. ADS is a program that allows a user who is familiar with java to create and manage android applications for smart devices like phones, tablets and computers. With a fusion of both User interface design and programming I found developing applications to be fun and engaging as I could test my designs firsthand using my very own smart phone.
